Millions of young people. 24 Hours. The end of slavery. That's our vision as a Hong Kong based charity, with the mission to challenge our generation to lead global action against slavery through the 24 Hour Race movement. Founded in 2010, we have enjoyed 100% growth yoy in terms of funds raised, participation and engagement.

Over 45 million slaves exist in the world today, and we want to change that. Social innovation & youth entrepreneurship make our vision reality. Every year. In every city.

The 24 Hour Race is a global youth movement that has a two-pronged approach to ending modern-day slavery. We are building an online platform to empower anybody in the world to join our youth movement to end slavery. We are also working closely with grassroots partner beneficiaries in the field to allocate raised funds to the most impactful projects related to the cause. These approaches call on us to innovate the way we interact with our donors, our stakeholders and our beneficiaries through tech. 


About the Project


Peak24 is a corporate relay race. Teams of 5 compete in a 24 mile relay race on the Peak.

2015: 100 runners, 10 companies

2016: 200 runners, 20 companies

Since 2015, we have expanded our reach from youth to adults. Engaging over 20 companies in 2016, Peak24 is the newest edition of corporate relay runs in Hong Kong.

With 200 runners in 2016, we have fundraised over HKD 300,000 for our cause and got staff members from reputable businesses engaged in in the fight against slavery.

In 2017, Peak24 will be completely planned, managed, organised, and delivered by HKU students. A unique opportunity for hands-on event management and corporate engagement in CSR activities.


About the Internship

In this internship you will be heavily involved in event management, strategic planning, marketing, and sales. Work with partners, create event production schedules, promote the event, and sell it to sponsors. You will develop your business skills and understand what is needed to bring a start-up to success.

The scope of the internship is the entire project timeline for Peak24. This spans from planning, sales, marketing, logistics preparation, to event delivery. Interns are expected to stay through the entire project and deliver race day. You will be proud of yourself when you will see hundreds of adults running and know that it was your efforts that made it happen!

Internship Conditions

We have a professional office, nicely located in Quarry Bay, where working is fun but definitely a challenge. As an intern don't expect to photo-copy, at 24 Hour Race, the CEO brings you coffee :)

You are expected to work at least 8 hours a week; this means to be present in the office or attend business related meetings. Usually, interns come to work 2 times a week for sessions of 3 - 5 hours each. Remote work is accepted in special cases. 

Open to students from all faculties with a passion for social innovation, startups and charity.

Working Hours: 8 hours per week

Duration: September 2016 - May 2017 (2 semesters)

Marketing and Media Ninja


You create engaging content. Make it go viral. You are excited to market like a guerilla. Plan strategies, tell stories, and manage several communication channels.

Make sure everyone in your community hears about the movement and the event by devising digital and physical marketing strategies, and running advocacy campaigns.

Engage the press and local ministries in the movement, so that the voices of all the people participating in Peak24 can be amplified.


  • Plan and execute marketing strategies across channels to our customers and stakeholders;

Logistics Hero


You love details. You want to sharpen your planning skills. Going in the field and getting your hands dirty doesn't scare you either.

Create a bulletproof rundown of the most awesome event ever, and work backwards to secure all the resources that you need, covering volunteers, marshals, health and safety and more.

Come up with creative ways to engage the youth audience on event day, ensuring that the event is fun and engaging, yet the serious message of the cause is conveyed and advocated.


  • Create and keep track the logistics timeline
