Why 24 Hour Race?
Thousands of high school and university students gather all around the world for 24 hours in a global fight against slavery.
Slavery can only be ended with greater awareness, understanding, and urgency. 24 Hour Races are a unique, compelling, and successful way to bring that to a generation of youth all over the world.
The 24 Hour Race is a movement that brings change to hundreds of people around the world while platforming the upcoming generation to become change makers.
HOW IT WORKS.
BECOME A RUNNER.

Each team needs a minimum of 5 people. Form your own team to run the 12 hour race. Become a Team Leader, contact remi.costas@24hourrace.org

Once you have talked to the Team Leader at your school it’s time to buy a ticket. Tickets can be found here ‘Buy Ticket’.

To officially become a runner, we’ll need you to fill in a few forms. You will receive an email with all the necessary forms after you’ve purchased your ticket. Please fill in all forms as soon as you receive your email.

The next big step is to fundraise! This is a huge part of being a runner. Your role is to begin fundraising by spreading your team’s fundraising page link to your family and friends. Information on how to set up your fundraising page is found directly below.
BECOME A TEAM LEADER.

If you are interested in being a Team Leader, contact last year’s Team Leaders or the teacher/staff in charge of the 24 Hour Race at your school. Your school might have a specific Team Leader selection process in place. Notify the 24 Hour Race of your selection as Team Leader.
If your school is new to the 24 Hour Race or you have questions, email
community.hongkong@24hourrace.org to register as your school in the race and your position as Team Leader. -
After you have notified the 24 Hour Race that you have become your school’s Team Leader a form will be sent to you. After you have filled in the form and been approved you are underway to being a Team Leader.

As a Team Leader you will have to organise the teams that will run for your school. Each team consists of 8 high school students who are 14+ years old. Teams can be all girls, all boys, or mixed gender. If your school does not have 8 runners let the 24 Hour Race know.

A fundraising page will be created for your team through Give.Asia. You will be responsible for sharing this page with your team and monitoring the progress to make sure everyone is working towards reaching the fundraising goal of HKD 10,000.

Everything you need to know about being a great Team Leader can be find our handbook. You’ll need it for information about recruiting runners, creating a 24 Minute Race, fundraising, creating the RAL Schedule, and on-day Responsibilities. This will be emailed to you after Step 2.
If you have been approved as a Team Leader you should also have access to the Team Leader handbook. If you have not received it, please email the Executive Director in your city or hello@24hourrace.org.
FUNDRAISE.

A fundraising page will be created for each team through the Give.Asia fundraising site for your city. Make sure to communicate with your Team Leaders and customise your team’s page with photos & information.

To fundraise successfully, you’ll need to learn about our cause, what we do, and why people should donate. Information about our current fundraising project can be found here.

Bake sales, 24 Minute Races, casual dress days are just a few ideas to get you started in your fundraising. Make sure to share your fundraising page on social media and ask your friends, family, and others in your network to help you fundraise.

Fundraise all you can and try to reach above & beyond the fundraising goal. Not sure what it is? Ask your Team Leader.
WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR IN 2025.
The 24 Hour Race (Running To Stop The Traffik) is a Hong Kong-registered charity with a host of anti-slavery initiatives including:
Mentoring Workshops
Youth Empowerment Conferences & Events
Student Leadership Programs
Incubators and Youth Seeding Campaigns
In addition to this, we are collaborating with Sons & Daughters and The Freedom Story.
Help us in supporting the wonderful work of Sons & Daughters (HK) and The Freedom Story (Northern Thailand)
Sons & Daughters: We need HK$75,400.00 to help fund the aftercare of a victim of human trafficking here in Hong Kong. This year-long program offers holistic care and ongoing support to a survivor living among us.
The Freedom Story: We need a significant amount to raise funds to support the following initiatives in Northern Thailand:
Training local community members in human trafficking prevention
Mentorship programs for at-risk youth
Full academic scholarships for vulnerable children
Legal assistance for survivors Together, these efforts aim to provide hope, healing, and lasting change for vulnerable individuals across our communities.
