WHO ARE THE STUDENT DIRECTORS?

Students, upon application and careful selection, are appointed as student directors. Student Directors are exceptional high school leaders selected through a competitive application process to lead the 24 Hour Race in their city. Each race location is managed by a team of five Student Directors, each overseeing a core function: Executive Leadership, Business Development, Operations, and Marketing.

Working closely with the 24 Hour Race HQ, Student Directors take charge of planning and executing every detail of the event together with their committee members – liaising with schools, ensuring participant safety, securing sponsorships, managing budgets, mitigating risks, and much more.

Beyond organizing an impactful event, Student Directors gain hands-on experience in leadership, communication, strategic planning, and social impact. Many go on to attend top universities and join leading organizations across the globe — from the U.S. and Europe to Australia and Asia. The skills and purpose they develop through this role stay with them for life, making it a standout experience in both their personal growth and professional portfolios.
